Nairobi Visit of Hon'ble
Cheif Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Project Director Urban Water Supply &
Environmental Improvement Project (Project Uday)

United Nations Human Settlement Programme had invited Govt. of Madhya Pradesh to
present it's initiatives in the field of Project Uday (an ADB assisted Urban Water
Supply & Environmental Improvement Project) and WAC (Water for Asian Cities)
Programme. These initiative included development of pro-poor Governance Frame Work,
Poverty Mapping, Financial Resources Mapping, Community Managed Water Supply Schemes,
Slum Environmental Sanitation Initiative, Gender Mainstreaming strategy etc. Which
have been acclaimed as best practices. GoMP was requested to present these
in the parallel event on "Innovations in Pro-Poor Water & Sanitation Governance"
during 21st meeting of governing council of UN-HABITAT. In this context the
Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited Nairobi from 16-18 April
07 along with Shri Anurag Jain Secy. to CM & Shri Hari Ranjan Rao Project Director
"Project UDAY".

- A seminar was organized by MP Urban (ADB) Project at the R.C.V.P.
Noronha Academy of Administration and Management Bhopal on "Procurement under MP
Urban (ADB) Project". The purpose of the seminar was to provide a platform of
dialogue and two-way communication amoung the project personnel and the
prequalified contractors. It was presided by Mr. Prabhudayal Meena, Principal Secretary, UADD
and attended by the various contractors, project personnel from four
project cities, PMC and DSCs. Mr. Alex Jorgensen Principal Urban Specialist ADB
and Mr. Ashok Shrivastav Project Implementation Officer ADB were also present on
the occasion. It is envisaged that the seminar will enhance participation in
bidding process related to infrastructure works.
